Our goal is to award a $20,000 scholarship in the fall semester each year to a deserving student. In recent years the average annual tuition has increased by 50 percent at public universities, a discouraging statistic for anyone entering college. We don’t want cost to make students second-guess attending college and attempting to better themselves. Our hope is to eliminate the students’ financial burden so they can focus on their education and their community.
The scholarships are intended to be dispersed over a four-year period and will be granted before the start of each fall semester. The recipients will be required to carry a full load (12 hours), keep an overall GPA of 3.0, and fulfill all other agreed-upon qualifications each semester. Interviews will be held each term to review the students’ progress in all qualifying areas.
Our fundraising efforts encompass the financing of the scholarships as well as the sustainability of the organization and its related assets. While this project and our other fundraising activities consume our calendars, we remain focused on the broader goal of expanding educational opportunities for minority students from single-parent households.
We are overwhelmed with the continuous outpouring of support you have shown for our mission, and we deeply appreciate your generous contributions. Please visit our donation page to help more students get the college education they deserve. |
